About Me

As a consultant, my professional interests intersect through the worlds of entrepreneurship and business development, science and environment, cultural industries and tourism. As a creative and cultural entrepreneur, some of the constants throughout my career are storytelling, innovation, risk-taking and creative production. I’m also an educator, delivering professional writing workshops and writing coaching for individuals and organizations.

I’ve founded businesses in communications, publishing, the arts and screen media. I’m an experienced writer and facilitator who has worked extensively with governments, non-profits and private sector clients. I provide strategic guidance and communication solutions to organizations that look to me for my clear thinking, communication expertise and depth of northern experience.

Teresa Earle is a consultant, writer and entrepreneur who also leads professional writing workshops.

I’m a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a BA in International Relations and the Simon Fraser University writing and publishing program. Raised in a family business, my work is grounded in relationships and entrepreneurial values. I’m positive, practical and hands-on, which also describes how I do business.

My eclectic career has been shaped by curiosity, unusual opportunities and a thirst for adventure. I spent a year training sleddogs with a National Geographic explorer. I helped establish the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. I was a science columnist for a newspaper. I prepared the bid for the Whitehorse Canada Winter Games. I produced the film that shared Yukon’s baby mammoth story with the world. I founded and sold a soap-making business that became an engine of community economic development. Over three decades, I have formed diverse relationships and strong attachments across the circumpolar North. I’m fortunate to have spent extended periods of time in Norway, Iceland, Northwest Territories and Alaska, as well as deep experience across the Yukon.

I’m proud to have co-founded Sagafish Media, a production company centred on screen storytelling in Canada’s North. Our films include Mammoth Hunters, Journeys to Adäka, Aurora Love and the National Film Board co-production, Voices Across the Water. In addition to producing and writing for documentary film, I’m a picture editor with five features under my belt. As long-time president of Screen Production Yukon Association, I played a key leadership role in developing the film and television industry through sector development, strengthened governance and industry policies.

Volunteering is important to me. I have served on many society boards including two industry associations, and I’m a volunteer with several sports and community organizations. I’m a CANSI-certified Nordic ski instructor and I can carry a conversation in French.
